History

The CAD Research Group (GRCAO) was legally founded in 1992 and was officially recognized by the vice-rector of the University of Montreal. It is affiliated to the School of Architecture of the Faculty of Environmental Design which includes architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, industrial design and urban planning.

Prof. Claude Parisel was the first director of the Group. In April 1998, after he had been intensively working on the consolidation of the activities of the Group, he handed-over his functions to the present director, Prof. Temy Tidafi. However, as an active member, Prof. Parisel continues to collaborate with the research and development activities of the Group. He has been granted the title of a Professor Emeritus of the University of Montreal.
